Neara ("Neara", "we", "our") operates a hiring platform that connects professionals in Latin America with employers, primarily in the United States. For privacy questions or to exercise the rights described below, contact us at privacy@contact.nearaai.com.

• Account & profile data — name, email, country, city (optional), LinkedIn URL (optional).
• Application content — resume file, role preferences, video recordings, referral code.
• Technical data — IP address, browser, device, cookies necessary to operate the service, anti-abuse signals (reCAPTCHA).
• Usage data — pages visited and steps completed during your application, used to improve the funnel.

• To enable you to apply to roles and to share your application with the employer of that role.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.
• To communicate with you about your application and account.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We rely on:

• Your consent for video recordings and for any optional personal data.
• Performance of a contract (these Terms) for the rest of the service.
• Legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement, balanced against your rights.

• Employers hiring for the specific role you applied to — receive your profile, resume, and videos so they can evaluate your application.
• Service providers acting under our instructions: AWS (file storage and hosting), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Google reCAPTCHA (anti-abuse). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• Authorities if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not run facial recognition or biometric identification on your videos, and we do not use your videos to train AI models. We do not currently make automated decisions about your application that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. If this changes, we will update this policy and notify you.

Our service providers may store and process your data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on contractual safeguards (such as standard data-protection clauses) to protect your data during these transfers.

• Incomplete drafts — if you start an application but do not submit it, we delete your draft (including any uploaded resume) after 60 days of inactivity.
• Submitted applications, videos, and resumes — up to 18 months from your last activity, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
• Account & profile data — for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
• Server logs — typically up to 90 days.

Subject to your local law, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate data (you can edit your application directly from your account, or write to us).
• Delete your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Receive a portable copy of your data.
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing).
• Complain to your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@contact.nearaai.com. We respond within 30 days.

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, and validated file uploads. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

The service is not directed to people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the service (session, security, language preference) and limited analytics to understand how the application funnel performs. You can control cookies through your browser.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
